Second Wind ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Second Wind mobile application (the "App"). We are independent developers based in Turkiye.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

You may voluntarily input:

  • Years of smoking
  • Smoking frequency
  • Time of smoking during the day
  • Reasons for smoking
  • Reasons for quitting
  • Previous quit attempts
  • Craving logs
  • Mode selection (Quit Now or Taper Mode)
  • Smoking behavior patterns

We do not collect age. We do not collect precise GPS location.

B. Automatically Collected Information

We automatically collect:

  • Device identifier
  • System-generated internal user ID
  • General location based on IP address (city-level only)
  • Device model and operating system
  • App version
  • Usage analytics (feature interactions, progress tracking, event logs)
  • Crash and diagnostic data

This data is collected through Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google Cloud backend services.

2. Purpose of Processing

We use data to:

  • Provide core tracking functionality
  • Generate motivational recovery metrics
  • Improve product performance
  • Fix bugs and crashes
  • Analyze aggregated, anonymized usage trends

We do not sell personal data. We do not use behavioral smoking data for advertising purposes.

3. Legal Basis (Where Applicable)

Where required by law, we process data based on:

  • Performance of a contract (providing the App)
  • Legitimate interest (improving and securing the App)
  • Consent (where required for analytics technologies)

4. Data Sharing

We may share data with:

  • Google Firebase services
  • Google Cloud infrastructure providers

We do not sell or rent personal data. If advertising services are added in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly.

5. Data Retention

We retain data:

  • As long as necessary to provide App functionality
  • Until the App is deleted
  • Or until a deletion request is received

We may retain anonymized, aggregated data for analytics purposes.

6. International Data Transfers

Data may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States, through Google infrastructure providers. Appropriate safeguards are applied through service provider agreements.

7. User Rights

Depending on jurisdiction, users may request:

  • Access to their data
  • Correction
  • Deletion
  • Restriction of processing

Requests can be sent to hello@thesecondwindapp.com. If a data deletion feature is added in-app in the future, this policy will be updated.

8. Children

The App is not intended for children under the minimum legal age required by applicable app store policies.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical safeguards. However, no system is fully secure.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.
